Telehealth and Telemedicine
Telehealth was widely utilized during the COVID pandemic by the medical profession and patients .
The system provided an alternative to face-to-face assessment.
During these assessments however patients’ conditions were missed, or underappreciated and diagnosis and urgent treatment was denied and catastrophic consequences occurred.
A duty of care still existed for the medical profession to identify patients at risk even in these telehealth assessments and treat the most critical conditions such as pending heart attacks and strokes.
